These things are tiny - the engines are only 50ccs (think lawnmower), but pit bike racers can do amazing jumps and other tricks.  Plus, they look like they are really easy to handle and maneuver.

There were also a couple of little kids that were riding their dad’s pit bike (when dad finally gave them a turn).  The kids were rocketing all over the place on these mini-motorcycles.

The 21^st Century has changed tremendously especially in the movie making business. Technology today has been so astounding, making fictional characters come to life. Computer generated animation have been a very useful tool in making things possible. Our favorite superheroes can be seen in the widescreens as if they can really fly and climb the wall. The tremendous undertakings and innovations have left us in awe and in amazement.

Today’s movie scene is far from where our great grand fathers have enjoyed their first movie in black and white and without any sound. As years pass by, the era of Charlie Chaplin made people laugh with his slapstick comedy. Few more years, and the movie industry have now developed audio for better entertainment. People this time enjoyed a more slapstick comedy with sound. The 3 Stooges was also formed making the big screen more fun to watch to.

As time matures, from black and white, man developed a technology to make the viewing more pleasurable and more enhanced again! They made movies with colors! Movies are now being enjoyed even more because of it.

When the race to space had begun, movies with space concepts immerged, too, from aliens, space travel and a lot more. In the late 70’s Star Wars was created and made a big impression in the movie industry.

Then a man able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, faster than a speeding bullet came. It was a blockbuster event and made amazements because he can seemingly fly and can even reverse Earth’s rotation.

Technology in movie making did evolve; the realistic space battles and even the cinematography were awesome. Few years more and things can get even more realistic that you will think you are also a part of the movie. The sound system will be more improved with more clarity and incredible sound tracks. During these times, we will be more addicted to the movies that seem to be part of our system.

Today, lots of movies are created to rock our minds. It is all because of the evolutions created by technology. The movies look so real just like the clips from Jurassic Park, Tornadoes, and Twister and not to mention the huge and floating alien battleships in Independence Day. The movie industry today can really make wonders, excitement and thrill. It can even make you jolt up at your seat.

I admit, I am a certified movie buff… a movie addict. I have already watched hundreds of movies and until now a lot of movies are continuously added on my list. Movies certainly add color and happiness to our life. Can you imagine life without it? Life will surely be incomplete and miserable without them.

Usually, movie depicts real life situations. It tends to bring deep emotions because somewhat we relate on it. It shows emotions like happiness, pain, and joy. Sometimes we feel that the characters on each movie are portraying us.

Movies are not also simply movies. In a way, they teach us lessons and through them we seem to get an idea on what to do when we are caught on the same situation. We cry and we laugh because of them. Movies have this great power to influence people.

Though there are lots of movies that are really good and of high quality, there are these movies that I have watched that until now remain in my mind and in my heart.

Here are some of the movies worth watching for:

Serendipity

John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale are the main characters in this movie. It is about two strangers that met and separated and allowed destiny to take over their lives. Sara Thomas which was played by Kate Beckinsale believed that if they really are for each other even if they don’t know anything about each other, then their paths will cross in due time if it is allowed by destiny. In the end, fate had brought them back together.

I don’t really believe in the so-called “destiny” but when I watched this movie it made me believe that somehow it is true.

Prince and Me

All of us have been fanatics of fairy tales. We all love stories about prince charming marrying a commoner. This movie was portrayed by Luke Mably and Julia Stiles. Mably plays the role of a Danish prince who moved in to Wisconsin to have some thrilling experience in his life. There he met a commoner student who was played by Stiles. The two fell in love even though they came from two different worlds.

50 First Dates

When I finished watching this movie all I could say was, “I want to have my own Henry Roth”. Henry Roth is a character played by Adam Sandler, a man who is afraid of commitment but fell in love with Lucy who was played by Drew Barrymore. But there was a catch; Lucy is suffering from anterograde amnesia, a condition wherein a person tends to forget everything in just over night. This movie has really showed how a man could possibly do anything just to prove his love to a woman even though he has to make her fall in love with him every day, over and over again.

I was still in my high school days when I first hear this song on the radio. I didn’t even know who it is for. But I already knew it was from Don Mclean, who made beautiful ballads such as American Pie, and I love you so and this song called Vincent.

I was in my room then listening on a small transistor radio when the Disc Jock introduced the title and the performer of the song. After seconds of silence, it began playing some guitar plucking and then the message.

I kept silent and imagined while I lay down on my bed. Don Mclean was describing something and I am wondered what it was.

An answer hit me. It’s a place, but I have no idea where it is. The melody was slow and mellow that I felt being on the same place that the song described. As the music continued, I realized that he was somehow singing for a man called Vincent. The man seems to be living in depression and sadness that he lost his sanity and much worst he took his own life.

As the song ended, I am still confused of who the man was. Good Lord the radio jock announced that it was a song tribute for Vincent Van Gogh.

I hurriedly got up from bed and gone straight to our mini library where there was a set of encyclopedia and searched for Vincent Van Gogh.

To my astonishment, in front of my very eyes is a picture of painting, exactly as what the song has described it. The title of the painting is Starry Starry Night.

Then I continued learning more about Vincent Van Gogh. As I read through the pages of the encyclopedia, I found out that he suffered from depression and insanity. Vincent Van Gogh took his life! That was the moment that I felt again the sadness of the song.

I just realized that art is a creation of man inspired by their heart and mind and how they express themselves. The beauty can be seen and felt just by staring at the wonderful masterpiece. God has wonderful gifts to man. Yet, only few can make such amazing creation. Vincent Van Gogh is just one among those who was given the gift. Sadly, he is now just a song away. But even he is remembered through a song, he is a star to be acclaimed and a memory worth remembering.
